Pertaining to a software or firmware update, I think the LG 620g is in a serious need of one or the other or both.
For example, on my LG 620g, my new micro SD card from Sandisk has been formatted to the phone and yet the phone will periodically "disconnect" from it every week or so. When I go to launch my playlist from the MP3 player, the phone automatically shuts off at which point I have to turn it back on.
Also, there's a 1 to 2 second lag between the opening of the phone and the point at which it becomes responsive.
For some reason, the programmable shortcuts on the phone are disabled as well, which would make using the phone so much easier.
There's a rather annoying "(re:)" in the subject line of each text reply that cannot be removed and of which there is no option for removing it.
Other than these things, it's not a bad phone at all. There's tons of things to like about it. It justs needs a few small pushes to be better.

BTW, are there any LG Codes that I could use in the Code Entry Mode of this device to access one of the service menus to turn on the programmable shortcuts?

Good comments... Let me see if I can get them to Development...

- I'll have to check to see if I can find out how to access the Programmer menu
- The Lag? Try removing the SD Card, as a test, and run the phone for a few minutes to see if the Lag goes away. I have seen some phones "Lag" when they have SD cards with a lot of files on them, because the OS is constantly monitoring the content on the card.
- MicroSD Dismounting? Not good... Open the Card Cage and make sure the card is seated firmly... If you continue to see this, let me know.

I did a little more research and discovered that since this phone is distributed by Tracfone, they may have disabled the customizable shortcuts. I was hoping there might be a list of codes somewhere that could be used to access one of the service menus onboard the device to re-enable the shortcuts, but those codes may lie with Tracfone.

I took out the SD card and the phone still shows lag for about 1 to 2 seconds at the start when the device is slid open. This may just be an inerrant part of the firmware/software. I looked up a few reviews of the LG620G and this was a common complaint.
As for the MicroSD dismounting, I cannot find any other complaints on the web about the LG620G in this regard. I opened the back of the phone again and made sure the card was fitted in properly and yet I'm still getting regular dismounting, albeit infrequently. I noticed that the dismounting always occurs as soon as the phone is slid open or closed (I notice this when the wallpaper on the homescreen changes since the image is located on the microSD). So, I thought that maybe the card is somehow moving inside the card cage. I, thus, inserted a piece of paper inside the cage with the card to see if this might work by keeping the card pressured against the metal contacts but to no avail. (Btw, I know that this phone is not likely malfunctioning due to a factory defect because this is my 2nd LG620G that this dismounting has happened upon.)

I have the same problem with memory card not registering on my LG620G.
And the "RE:" in every text message is annoying to me and my friends. THey always ask "what's the deal with your phone? Why does it do that?" -
