I can't get GPS LOCK on the Nitro HD when using Google Navigation.
" SAYS SEARCHING FOR GPS "
Just a note: my ATRIX 4G always got GPS lock in seconds, unlike the Nitro HD
Does anyone have any words of wisdom here ?
Im frustrated with the Nitro HD and thinking strongly about throwing it off a bridge in to the ocean, of course after taking micro sd card and Sim card out. been one problem after another that still exist, but staying on this topic for now.
If i throw it in the ocean, I'm looking at $500 plus for another phone, purchased out right. Yes its worth it at this point.
LG disappointed with your product at this point.

First, make sure your phone's time is correct.
Second, download a program like GPS Status and Toolbox.
Comming from a Cold state, yes sometimes a lock may take a while.
Go outside and in the clear. Run GPS Status. Click on settings and Manage AGPS State, perform a Reset and Download. How long does it take to establish a lock.?
How many sats does your phone see? Even indoors, my Spectrum sees 6or7 (first number) of 14 (second number).
You might try Assisted GPS Injector and see if that speeds things up. Force closes on my Spectrum. Used to help when I had a Motorola Triumph.Comment -

My time is on Network so always have the correct time.
I downloaded the GPS Status and Toolbox, did the re-set and download
THIS WORKED FOR ME ! many thanks
GPS lock now takes seconds, This fixed my issue.
Dont now why the phone can't do this without external apps, however its working now as advertised or to my expectations.

Please try the latest Android 4.0.4 ICS update that released today. Hoping it helps with this issue. Let us know:

Did this get resolved with either ICS or an update to the Google Maps app? There have been a lot of reports of Google Maps not working with ICS (on all phones, not just LG) until the latest update. Curious if this is resolved for you.
