it is hard to watch my xoom buddies usbing the hell out of there cameras and the like... when are we getting the 3.1 update? it would be nice to rent movies as well. again, like the xoom.

Tried several USB drives last night. Did not work. Though I did not try any drives with their own power source or through a powered USB hub.

Has anyone actually sucessfully rented --been able to check out and download-- a movie? I am stuck in a loop -- not allowed to sign into Market (again), checkout, and actually download a movie.

What a douchy move, LG. Lock the bootloader to stop me from using MY tablet how I want, then for the icing on the cake slip it in an update I've been waiting for and don't put it in the change list. Let me pile this on my list of reasons to never buy another LG product for myself. When I'm done with this g-slate, I'm done with you LG.

Wondering, did you have Netflix on before, it says it is not compatable with my Slate, and I haven't gotten the Update yet.. some people say they get it by doing a constant request.. other than a total power down and reboot, it never seems to check... wondering if I am doing something wrong since I have 100% power each time..with wifi.
AH! Ok, I've seen it (movie rentals) work differently on other Honeycomb devices.
Data is going crazy right now on this. It's really busy with something in the background. All sorts of time outs and the back is getting warm.

Manually force update check by clicking on timearea (bottom right corner), then click again on time displayed, then in larger window click "settings" on bottom of row, then "About Tablet" on bottom of row, then "System Updates" on top of row. If you see a "Check Now" button, click that (although I think that button only appeared AFTER I received my 3.1 update). I may be mistaken, but I THINK you have to be connected to T-Mobile cellular to receive the update.
As for those of us seeing the busy downloading activity all the time after receiving are OS updates; the culprits are the embedded (can't uninstall them) programs "Zinio" and "DoubleTwist Player". One or both seem to constantly be downloading updates. It burned through my paid 5GB of 4G data service in record time before I realized what was happening. Every month prior my T-Mobile data usage averaged 1.5GB to 2GB. After the update, it exceeded 5.1GB in a weeks time. The constant background updating of these programs bogged down the tablets processor so much that I was unable to view YouTube videos (buffering forever) and I was having to mash down on the virtual keyboard keys to make sure everything key I typed was being recognized by the system. WTF, over. Now wondering if this is was an intentional software modification to increase customer's data usage, or an unintentional screw-up on the updated OS? Kinda makes you go hummm.
To (somewhat) resolve the problem, I turned off all automatic updates on all installed software (the embedded programs won't give you this option), and now I manually startprogram update downloads only when I'm at home and connected to my wifi network.
Hope they fix this problem and include those features we ASKED FOR in the (anticipated) 3.2 OS update!

For the Optimus Pad? No I don't know of anyway to update to 3.1 now that the update isn't available from Google any longer... Have you tried Customer Support in your Region?
There's Anyway to Recive AndroidUpdate 3.1LG-v901 Tablet ?
