I'm having a problem with my phone post-update.



I cannot modify my sound&display settings. When I go into settings, sound&display I get

"Sorry!The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly"

I did a hard-reset on my phone, and removed recent applications. Any other thoughts?

If this is still happening, I would try another Master Rest and this time try the Sound & Dssply settings before adding anything else... Also if this persists, dismount the MicroSD Card and try going into the Sounds & Display again... If it works, then it's pointing to a Bad File on the MicroSD Card.

After doing the master re-set AND restoring all of my data, the sound&display worked.

But then I started getting the error again after about a day.

Ok, last night I tried another hard re-set.

I removed my SD card before the re-set, and did not reinstall any programs, or the SD card after the re-set. Immediately after the re-set I could get into Sound&Display. 10 minutes later I could not.

Before I had changed any personal settings.

Pro, could you plese give us direction? Do we have a resolution to the broken apps issue yet? Will there be a resolution? As the other posters, I've done Master Resets and reinstalls to no avail. I have paid and unpaid apps like Beacon, Docs To Go - Key, Business Ledger, Exit Strategy, TV.com and Skype all broken (and all listed as private apps in Astro, or I guess copy protected).

After reinstalling, the simple task of changing the battery renders the apps useless again and wreaks havoc on my productivity - well, maybe not with TV.com but certainly the others.

Please help. Thanks

I've tried to install Protected Apps as well, and I'm seeing the same thing... After Rebooting or pulling the Battery the App Icon appears as a Generic Android App and all it will do is Force Quit... They are working on resolving this right now, and I anticipate a quick turn on the Update for the Update... :-( I know this has to be a real pain and a productivity killer. I'll try to get you a solution as soon as possible.

2.1 Update for VZB? No I haven't forgotten.... Sorry it's taking so long, but It's still in the works

There is word on other boards that a VZC update is starting to show up. I have not seen it yet but the word is that it is faster and may have fixed some other issues. I am looking forward to seeing it.

VZC is out it started Pushing out on the 19th... Yes there are several issues that were addressed, but Speed? I'm not sure if that was something they tweeked... Here is the note of what I was told..

I got the update this morning. I configured the corporated email and calendar and they seem to work! I checked and was able to send and receive email. A great improvement!

There was one problem that I did note that might still have me purchasing "Touchdown". I do no see a way to get the mail client to display HTML formatted emails as anything other than text with HTML code. :-(

Now that I have the latest update (3 - 4 mins to download and install - not long)

Firmware: 2.1-update1

Baseband: VS740MVC.5210.1015

Full corporate email and calendar synch work without much issue. I have tested various functions of the corporate calendar (connecting to Exchange 2007). New event, with attendees etc and all work.

The only caveat is that all day events show up in agenda view as two separate events with the same information. To solve this problem, remove the account definition all together and resubscribe. Likely it this is due to the event being synchronized but not replacing the old cached calendar data data on already on the device. Removing and reestablishing the account resolves this problem.

Email still has the problem when used with a large corporate account with multiple sub folders, of not being able to successfully pull up the secondary folder contents. All the folders display (as individual folders not sub folders) but accessing the content is still not available. The messages in the inbox display correct and consistent. If another folder could be worked on, the "sent items" folder would be the next priority.

How can you tell you have this update? Im a new customer since November. Also I read a post on here about Froyo 2.2 releasing in Febuary now.
