I just read that as well and I did not like it at all.LG, LG Dev Team, LG Customer Care Dept, LG Folks, LG Product Pro, SmartPhoneGeek, could you please provide a promptly official comment/update on this topic? For me, if I do not hear any official positive LG commitment to their best Smartphone, I will be throwing the towel and asking my money back, because you guys have failed big with your own and with your Customers as well. Thanks,

If this is ture.
The G2X is a huge failure.
We had so many issues befor the gingerbread update.
The only reason i bought this phone issupposed to be the "vanilla" verison of android and therfore should recive updates easier.
I hope LG gets there sh*t together and makes their customer happy.
Please relase ICS!!!

I'm still in buyer's remorse period on my G2X... Just got it a couple of days ago, and I'm seriously thinking about returning it, and LG can just eat the loss in sales. I will also never touch another LG phone. I gave this one a chance because it is a 2011 phone and I was under the impression that it had a good chance of being updated.
Will cost me $50 restocking fee, but without an update this phone already feels like an albatross. There is absolutely NO reason this phone should not be udpated other than LG simply not caring about sales.

@lattera via twitter:@LGUSAMobile I hope LG knows its decision to orphan the Optimus 2X from future updates is going to seriously hurt LG's mobile division.https://twitter.com/#!/lattera/status/129936449956089856

You are burning bridges to long time custmers and new customers alike. The G2X/O2X are a flop and LG just sit quietly and lets it's customers run off to other manufacturers.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST that if you are in your buyers remorse period to return the G2X ASAP. It's really not worth the trouble you will no doubt have with it or the borken promises of "support LG claimed it would have.
Life is NOT good LG. First your TV's randomly turn off and you SCREW ME, then the LG BD390 refuses to play a lot of new Blu-rays even with the latest firmware and you SCREW ME, and now my G2X has a POS GB update and is being put to pasture already with less than 6 months of support/official updates and YOU ARE SCREWING ME FOR THE LAST TIME!
Almost got me to the point of ALL CAPS RAGE.. I'm gonna now go beat T-mo over the head for a month of exchanges until the UPGRADE me to a different NON-LG device and I will never, ever, as long as I live buy anything you guys sell. I don't care if your product can cure cancer and AIDS while crapping prostitutes with hearts of gold and does it for $0.99..wow I've never been so mad at a company. :-D

take the 50 dollar loss if you must dump this piece of crap and LG as soon as you can.
just pathetic for a company of this size to treat people as they did. and continue to do.
as far as i know the o2x still doesnt even have gingerbread yet.
But remember just because they said it wouldnt this company is so dysfunctional that they could say that while another part is working hard to bring icecream sandwhich. while i doubt it its possible as bad as this company is.
lucky for us and many future smartphone customers. LG is not like sammsung they have not learned from any of this and their mobile division should be bankrupt shortly.
everyone post everywhere you can so people know about LG mobile phones and save future phone buyers from wasting their money as many have.

Chris, I'm not sure who's speaking on behalf of LG but I can tell you that it's not our official statement. In fact, we still haven't finished testing all our phones for ICS compatibility so it's a bit premature to be saying what you supposedly saw on this FB page.

Supposedly? I saw it with my own eyes and your PR guys yanked it. Maybe your english isn't very good but what you just did there was very close to accusing a customer of lying.

There is absolutely no excuse for this, whatsoever. But when you have a dual-core phone that should have absolutely no problem running Android 4.0 and you donÛat update it, youÛare sending a middle finger to the people who bought it.
This isnÛat the mytouch 3g, this isnÛat the Motorola Cliq, itÛas a Dual-Core device, with plenty of internal storage and thereÛas absolutely no excuse for LG not to update it.
And no LG, Life is not good.
I will never buy another LG phone again.

I suggest all those affected by this, start writing letters to LG,T-Mobile and possibly Google. I know Google doesnÛat have total control over it, but IÛam sure even they would be appalled by what is happening.
Oh and Customer service emailed this to me. "

Well, they at least seem to be backtracking from that post now, since it has been removed, and the official LG Mobile Facebook page has posted:
Hey Rahul, We do have a plan to update Ice Cream Sandwich. Now we are woking on it! When the date is set we will let you know through Facebook! Please check our wall regularly! Cheers
(via uzzi88 in the xda-developers thread)
Probably just an attempt to avoid a complete PR disaster (although they did finally announce the worldwide release of the Gingerbread upgrade for the Optimus 2X today), but I'll take a wait-and-see approach for now. I'm likely just setting myself up for disappointment when they inevitably try to justify not upgrading by claiming our dual-core devices can't handle 4.0, even though it is actually supposed to improve performance on multi-core devices. They aready have our money, so why spend anything on a made-sale (you know, other than engendering customer loyalty and whatever) when they can just sucker the average buyer who doesn't know any better with a new phone with the same lack of post-release support?

OK, my G2x just shutdown today (again? 2nd time after on my Replacement) probably due to overheating, requiring battery pull...So actually regardless if it is in ICS or GB still, LG has to fix their Phone. If they can really fix their Phone, they need to commit to ICS.If they can not fix it, they will not bother with ICS: G2x is broken...#LgAngriestMob #OccupyLghttp://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/LgAngriestMobhttp://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/OccupyLg [from Khamikaze]

Detailed information on the ICS OS update schedule for specific models will be announced, once the ICS OS is publicly released by Google.
