Muziq all the way; I'd rather have this than a phone AND mp3 player, one less thing in my pocket, plus the FM transmitter is pretty swank.

Sounds great, but the phone does not stay on.
You'll catch up on gossip when you're on the go - although you'll miss the messages because the phone shuts off in your pocket for no reason and without any warning.
text your friends fast to keep in the "know"! - not really all that fast when you factor in the time needed for the phone to freeze up and then completely restart.
The camera's for pics to snap, show and share - but the pictures are dark and difficult to see and the slow data connection ensures that the picture will take a while to get there and the phone usually shuts down while sending.
listen to your favorite music anywhere! - if you don't mind the music skipping and stopping randomly...you can use headphones but first you'll need to buy some with the smaller jack (can't use your iPod ear buds) and the sound is not in stereo.
Qwerty Keyboard = awesome feature.
Phone's ability to perform all these actions = fail.

I too would say the LG Lotus LX600 is a great choice. When I first saw it, I thought it was a little odd looking. Not impressive. But it's a stealthy little phone. It actually looks like a miniature laptop. And as I've gotten to use it more and more, I'm appreciating it a lot. It's the best phone I've ever owned. I'm glad I didn't saddle myself with a "smart phone" like the iPhone or Blackberry. The Lotus lets you do what you need to with half the bulk!

I've been using the Rumor for a couple of months now. I love it over my old phone, but it's got a couple of drawbacks that I'd like to see fixed: 1. The Media player does not allow for good organization of the MP3 files. I've put a long list of files on it into separate folder, but the Rumor just lists them as one long list--no folder organization. Makes it impossible to select specific files for playing. I wanted the folder functionality to be able to group my MP3 files. 2. BitPim does not yet support the Rumor. It'd be nice if someone at LG or Sprint would give the developers at BitPim a hand in building the interface for Bitpim. 3. The built-in camera is rather crappy: - Forget low-light conditions. Photos come out horrible, if at all. - shutter doesn't take the picture right away--there's about a 1 second delay from the time you press the button to the time it takes the picture. Horrible for taking shots of uncoroporative subjects--such as pets. In other words, if getting a camera with the phone is important to you--forget about getting a Rumor. Some of the features I really like include: --The fact that it plays MP3 files--this was my main reason for selecting this phone. --the QWERTY keyboard. Even though I don't use it for Texting, I do use it for keeping notes, creating schedules, or updating contacts. I hate using a numeric keypad for text. As simple a design it is to hide the keyboard in the slide-out--I'd suggest that this feature would be a great benefit on all phones.

Just read the previous posts about the Rumor freezing up--if this happens to you, update the firmware. There was a bug that cause the Rumor to do this, but the latest firmware update fixes this issue. If you don't have a data plan, you might try going into a Sprint store to see if they'll update the firmware without cost.

Having the worst experience with the LG Lotus LX600 display goes blank after 2-5 weeks been sent refurbished phones and the same problem with all three. Waiting on the 4th to arrive soon. The phone is not worth the money in my book.

Lg Lotus all the way. Loved it right out of the box. First one went swimming so i had to get a new one. New one is refurb and acts funky once and a while, but over all good. I just wish Pandoria worked on it. No real app lib. to speak of either. Other than that, phone is great. If the IPhone, G1, Pre, or Blackberry is too much stuff in a phone for you, look at the Lotus.

Definitly not the Lotus as the screens go bad and LG refuses to aknowledge the problem. I dont plan on ever buying and LG phone again.

I love my Lotus. As for LG working on the screen problem, when they fix it, what do all the users get for having to pay out-of-pocket for replacement phones. I don't know about the rest of the users, but $50 every time the screen dies get old fast. One other thing, can we get hooked up with pandora, please.

I have the Lotus Elite (LX610) and I love it to death. I also second the posters wondering if we can get the Pandora app. My only real gripe about the Elite so far is the lack of a decent app library. Any chance of us Elite users getting some decent ones, or at least a timeframe for the Pandora app? I see the regular Lotus users have the same question as well.

I have the LG Rumor Touch. While it is probablly worth the $30 (assuming I get my $50 rebate) it is not worth much more. This phone has several problems when it comes to pictures and videos.
1. Pictures and videos can not be sent from the File Manager. This is the only place I can see and play videos in separate folders.
2. Videos on the SD card are NOT recognised when they are in different folders like pictures are at the My Pictures and Videos on the Main Menu.
3. The Slide Show does not work because the files are not displayed in the order they are in the File Manger.
4. The Toolbar Magnifyer does not work at all, as far as I can tell. There seems to be no way zoom in or out on web sites. My old LG CU920 could do this easily.
5. This phone is for Lefties only. The key board, while nice, pops out on the wrong side for right handers.
Like I said, it is worth $30.

Searching the manual I discovered what I thought was the magnifyer is a search button. The phone has no magnifyer, as far as I know. Maybe it is not worth the $30 after all.

my mom has the original lotus which she loves, however after a little over 2 years it is wearing down. The biggest problem is the batter life now. At current pricing, I can get her a phone cheaper that a battery. Anyone have any suggestions fora phone that is not touch screen, but has a full keyboard? Also looking at lotus elite, does anyone know if you can disable the touch screen?
Thanks

Lack of some features like being able to watch youtube. Some reps say customers buy it then do a 30 day to a nicer phone later. Haven't seen many specific complaints about either. Personally I don't like the lag of the touchscreen on the Rumor Touch but I was spoiled by my old Treo 700P. The Touch doesn't feel quick enough or responsive all the time like I require.

I couldn't be happier with my Optimus. It's been referred to as an "entry-level" Android phone, and I partly agree; but it's really a solid, well-built, fine device.

Right now I have an LG Lotus. I got it last Jan and while I really like the phone, there's two extremely irritating things and one highly annoying problem I have with it. First, I can't upload or download files to or from the built-in browser or Opera.
Irritating Thing #1: It would have been nice to be able to snap a pic and upload it to Imageshack, Photobucket or if I were selling something on Craigslist, to be able to create an ad and upload the pic directly from my phone instead of having to do it from a PC. Downloading stuff would be nice, especially lil pics I run across on the web or the random mp3 I might hear.
Irritating Thing #2: Every now and then, the phone refuses to stay off when I turn it off. I'll shut it off, watch it turn off, and right before I close it, it reboots! Also, the phone randomly shuts down after I close it causing me to miss calls 'cause I didn't know it was off.
Highly Annoying Thing: Youtube links, when clicked on from within Opera, play but causes the media app to freeze the screen until I plug in/remove headphones and hit end twice. At this point, I can resume using the phone normally and can get back into Opera.
Right now, I'm considering a Rumor Touch. I'm making another thread about that one.

For texting, it's the Rumor 2. More reliable than the Touch as the the touch screen is more prone to fail than the 2's lcd.
As a tech in a local service center, people laugh when they see what I use. Ifix BB's for breakfast, EVOs for lunch, and i580's all day. Never see the rumor 2 except for port issues which are usually self-inflicted problems.
